Why this partnership?

Children and youths from these families tend to engage less in sports activities or exercise due to their ongoing circumstances. IsportU wants to be able to bring the joy of sports to them at The Haven.

Members of IsportU were able to engage the youths and children with different sport activities.

To connect with the children, IsportU stands by three values: community building, a trust circle, and engagement.

Community Building

We want to be able to establish a strong and budding community for the children and youths, so they are able to play their sport without worries. In this community they are exposed to all sorts of activities and can connect with others through a shared interest. After all, sport is for everyone regardless of age, race and capability.

2

Trust Circle

In a community, there must be trust. For our members relay our message, we had to build a circle of trust and companionship. By establishing this, we prioritise the well-being of the children/youths and respect their backgrounds. This allows us to get to know them better.

3

Engagement through Sport

Our members exposed the children to a different variety of sports and activities. We allowed them to choose which best fit their interests and which activities were most engaging. Sports is all about fun, and it is important that everyone experiences it.

Donations

There are many ways to give. We were able to give old sports equipment and clothes to The Salvation Army as part of our donation efforts.  Join ISportU to make a difference together!

Shibuya Crossing
Tokyo, Japan

In Japan, ISportU learned about the concept of 'wabi-sabi', a Japanese philosophy that embraces the values of imperfections. We teach young athletes to see beyond the limitation of resources or exhaustion of exercise and inspire each other no matter the outcome. ISportU at the “Shibuya Crossing”. (Tokyo, Japan)
