About Us
The story behind IsportU's creation.
Founder's Story
Education is a privilege that most students have: schools allow us to learn, participate in sports, clubs, and study alongside our peers. Anna studies in a tennis academy in France where she is provided with the equipment and environment for a student-athlete. It is a privilege to be apart of a high performance training centre like MTA.
In 2019, Anna visited one of few tennis centres in Yangon, Myanmar. She sparred with students there and noticed their talent for the sport. The thing that struck her was their training centre-there were only 3 courts available, in comparison to the 32 courts in her school. The courts were uneven and poorly maintained, and students did not have proper tennis equipment. This shocked Anna--how could such skilled, gifted athletes train with the bare minimum?
It occurred to her that she had the resources, connections, and ability to help these students further their dreams of pursuing tennis as a professional career. Anna wants to help aspiring athletes, not just in Myanmar, achieve their dreams that have been limited by the little resources they have. The creation of IsportU gives her just the opportunity to do to so. She is thrilled to start this organisation with the help of her peers, mentors, and partners.
